Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #97 - Create a Christmas card using aqua, silver and white

It's time for another Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge. This week we are asked to make a card that uses the colours aqua, silver and white. The design team have come up with the most amazing line-up of clear and fresh cards. Stop by the Merry Monday blog and follow the links to the teams personal blogs. You will be inspired!!

Here is my card. It sparkles more IRL.

For the tree, I first die cut the shape, left it in the die to emboss it, then direct inked through the gaps with a little cats eye Versamagic aqua pigment ink pad. I love the effect.

Stamps: Sentiment Kaisercraft  Christmas Carol
Die: Memory Box Frosted Christmas Tree, SSS Holiday Shapes - star
Ink: Versamagic, Zing Silver embossing powder
Card: Kaisercraft, MME gingham

Enjoy the challenge!!

The Card Concept Challenge #4 - Use a floral theme on your card.

Hi Everyone, welcome to another Card Concept Challenge. This time, we are asking you to use a floral theme on your card.  As flowers are probably the most popular image used on cards, I am predicting a bumper crop in the gallery for this challenge.

Have a look at the gorgeous inspiration image. So pretty.

For my card, I imagined looking down on the vase/jar, focusing on the rim, the flower layers and the grey/green foliage.
I love the wood 'Happiness' from Prima, the stitched circle dies from Lil' Inker, the Stitched File Folder & Index Card Dies from My Creative Time, and of course the Funky Floral stamp set /Notched Flowers die set from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is from SSS and the wool leaves are die cut from my hand dyed wool.
To finish, I added a little twine and some pearls and sequins.

Inks: Hero Arts
Card: Kaiser and Neenah white

Do hop over to The Card Concept Challenge Blog to see the gorgeous cards created by the other design team members.
That's it from me.
Enjoy creating for this challenge over the next two weeks.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #96 - Use Holly on your Christmas card.

Hi folks!! Welcome to another Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge. Have a look at this week's delightful, 'yesteryear' inspiration. You are asked to use holly on your cards, another totally iconic Christmas image. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one. :-)

I seem to have returned to die cutting this week!!
The holly leaves are a mixture of card and vellum. There are a couple of DSPs and mirror board for the shiny bell and stars. I love the mixed Font sentiment from W Plus 9.

Dies: Dee's Distinctively Wreath Builder Dies,  Spellbinders Foliage, Lil' Inker Holly Jolly, Small Bow, Stitched Circles and Jingle Bell Die Sets. SSS Large holiday shapes (stars)

CASE Study Challenge #177 - Casing Danielle

I am playing along with the Case Study Challenge today. We are casing the lovely Danielle Flanders, I just love her loose, original style.

Here is my card. I seem to have a bit of a bird theme going at the moment (my third  this week).
Ehhhhh! They are just plain cute, and the stamp companies do such a great job of making extra cute stamps....who can resist! :-)

I have paper pieced these sweet wee birds from Hero Arts. They came as a set of 4 LP032 DECORATIVE BIRDS. I have used washi tape zig zag pattern, PTI 'forever' and  Creative Time stitched frame and hearts.
The DSP is from a Provo craft Mat Stack. A red free Valentines card!

Must post, dinner is ready.
Thanks for dropping in.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #95 - Use an animal on your Christmas card.

Welcome to this weeks Merry Monday Challenge. The inspiration is this gorgeous vintage image of a Scotty dog with his red Tamoshanta (I think it is). While this is the image, the only must haves on your card are an animal (yes, birds are animals), and of course, a Christmas theme . Other than that, you can completely go to town with style and colours.

Here is my card for this week. I am trying to include more stamping. I am such a die cut girl.

Anyhoo! My stamps are Inkadinkado -Birds Galore. The 'Merry' and scallop edge are from PTI. The 'Christmas' is SSS. Ink is Versafine grey and black. White card is Neenah and black is Kaskad. B/W spot is from a  Provo craft Mat Stack. The diecut 'Merry' is 4 layers thick (the bottom one is black).

The card is quite stark but I do like it.

The next few weeks are going to be FUN!!! My DH now has the cough I have had for the last three weeks.  My cough was 'an annoying, but I can keep going sort of cough', my husbands is a 'high decibel, hacking, I am dying sort of cough'. Hmmmm! Nerves will be frayed.

Do have fun creating your cards this week. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. :-)

Runway Inspired Challenge #53 Temperley London

Hello again. Today I am playing along with the Runway Inspired Challenge, and for once, I am not sliding in at the last minute. There is just something special about being inspired by a gorgeous fashion garment. The luster on this dress is phenomenal (silk I am sure).....and the colour, one of my favs. Do have a look at the amazing cards from the DT.

After magnifying the image , I could really see the gorgeous applique down the centre panel. There was only one stamp set that I have that fitted the bill for this challenge and that was PTI's  Sweet Life. The Fancy Lattice die is Spellbinders. The 'Love' is from Prima and the large decorative brad is MME.

Thanks for dropping in.
Meet you at the next challenge :-)

The Card Concept Challenge #3 - Use monochromatic pink on your card.

Welcome to another Card Concept challenge. We had such a wonderful response to the last challenge with an amazing gallery of cards.
This week we would like you to make a card using pink in any of it's hues. Lots of scope for theme and style here. Have fun creating...........................................

For my card this week I wanted to use my new Technique Tuesday Chickadees stamp set. Unbelievably cute. :-)

I have used a DSP for the body and the Monday. The stitched oval, and  notebook dies are from Lil'Inker. The pink notebook paper is from Prima - Anna Marie, the sentiment is Avery Elle Handwriting Notes.
I chose to make the layering quite simple, but I felt it needed a little something extra for a bit of pizzaz. The stitched circles did the trick. The random and wiggly stitched lines were planned. :-) The stitching also repeats chickee's shape. Tick! The pink sentiment is white embossed then inked.

May you be happily in the pink this week!

CASE Study Challenge #176

Hi there! It's the wee hours of the morning and I should be in bed but I just wanted to link up my card for the CASE STUDY challenge. This week we are to case Donna Mikasa's gorgeous card.

As well as being inspired by Donna's card, I have also been inspired by the myriad of cards resulting from the On-line Stenciling class. The technique I have used is to colour modeling paste with fushia ink....a very enjoyable process.
My stencil, I am loath to say, is a sheet of metal cutout from sequins I think. I have had it for years. I just wash and reuse it as you would a normal stencil. I like the density of the dots. I also have a roll of plasters tape with smaller holes that works well too. So, I just smeared the coloured paste randomly, well, slightly planned, on the card with a palate knife. I love the partial dots.
I overlaid a white die cut fern frond, and a scattering of sequins, including a few cutouts from the sequin holes that you find in the bottom of the packets.
For my sentiment I stayed with the vellum, and fully intended to use the die cut 'Hello' on the card, but the negative piece of gold mirror board just asked to be used. I like the result, although, I had to polish the mirror board before I photographed it. :-)
Taking the photo was a bit of a mission because there was a lot of reflection in the mirror board. In the end I decided that was one of it's characteristics so stopped fussing.

I am off to bed.
Happy creating.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #94 - Use a stocking or stockings on your Christmas card.

Here we are in the second month of 2014!!  Unbelievable. I do not remember time passing this quickly 10 years ago. I am getting old. :-(
If time passes as quickly for you.................... it's our busy lives I am sure.................... how about starting your 2014 Christmas card stash by joining us in this Merry Monday challenge. Next Christmas will be here before you know it!
This time the challenge is to use a stocking or stockings on your card, so pull out your stamps and dies and have fun creating.:-)

For my card I have used a few Digital images. The wood grain background is from Etsy, the fabric on the stocking is also from Etsy, and the stocking is from me. I laid the digital stocking over the digital linen and printed it, then trimmed it. The stocking cuff was printed white and overlaid.
For the foliage I used Dee's Distinctively Wreath Builder Dies, Clearly Besotted Leafy Accents and Spellbinders Foliage. The tag is from Kaisercraft. The hearts are a Simon Says Stamp Die, and the scallop border is a Fiskers punch. The twine is Hemp from Etsy, my favorite!

Have a look at the cards from the rest of the team. You can go to the challenge by clicking here. The team has grown so more inspiration for our Merry Mondayers.

Have a great week. See you next time.
