Case Study Challenge #154

Really, really fast post to make the deadline!! My first with Case Study. :-)
The cards from the DT girls are such wonderful inspiration. A challenge and resource all in one.

Well I got the card linked with time to spare BUT!! The computer locked up, my webpage wouldn't.....well everything happened, that wouldn't happen, if you had heaps of time. A few ####@@!!!**^^ used. :-((

For the background I water coloured, watercolour paper. I cut each colour strip then arranged them on Jac paper (double sided sticky paper). The colours were too fierce so I washed them with white acrylic paint. I removed the paper backing and secured it to the base card.
The butterflies are from Martha Stewart, and the 'Thanks' is a Cuttlebug die. (part of a font set)

Just sliding through the deadline door!!

ColourQ challenge #203

Last night I made this card for ColourQ challenge #203  while watching/listening to a few recorded programs of 'What's really in our food". So, I am now up on, soy beans and associated products, how much salt is in our food .............YIKES!!............... that we should have no more than 2300mg /day(I do try to keep it down but nice to have a number), very young children no more than 1000mg/day, and yogurt, probiotics etc.....are they really as good as 'they' say. Hmmmmm.

I loved working with the teal and green. The bag image is fabulous, and I kinda followed that for mostly (green), some (teal) and a bit (of brown).

For the 'Hello' I dashed a bit of Distress Stain on a white piece of card then die cut it.
Black tape 'just saying'  from the Dynamo, PTI dots and Scallop edge, a bit of washi, twine, pearls, and paper flowers in delicious colours.

Just heading into the Sunday evening meal, watching salt of course :-).........a big green salad, a baked potato with a dollop of unsweetened, thick and creamy, greek yogurt (double yum), and (vegetarians cover your ears) a piece of scotch fillet steak!! Yum. Only my third piece this year.

Onwards!!
Thanks for dropping in.

Moxie Fab's - Tuesday Trigger - 'Now that's my cup of Tea'

This sweet tea cup and saucer is so packed with inspiration.

This card uses a selection of stamps from Hero Arts and PTI.

The next card uses a tiny, wee cup stamp from Clearly Besotted.
A bit of masking and they were stacked.
Well Sort of!!
Have a look at the photo at the bottom. There is something very wrong with this stack!! I went to photograph the cards yesterday and thought something wasn't right. It took a while to twig. I remade the card last night.

Off to have lunch with hubby.
Have a great day.

The Shabby Tearoom's Week #180 Challenge 'Material Girl'

Just look at this gorgeous image from The Shabby Tearoom's Challenge this week .................. SOOOOOO beautiful.
Well, it really bought out the 'do something more then a card' in me. I am sure that was due to the fabulous baskets from the DT girls....just yummmm!!! So this is a first for me, and what fun it was, good and bad. The process of making a wee bag from scratch without a pattern or a 'how to' was, well, let's just say, I learnt a lot, about what NOT to do.

Here is the result.................

I rolled the flowers using knit mesh for the white flowers, and quilting cotton for the Aqua flowers. This filled the material and flowers criteria for the challenge.

I knew all along the bag would have tissue inside. This was provided by the beautiful packing in my parcel from Verve stamps that arrived a few days ago. Beautifully wrapped.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

 See what you think??

Thanks for your visit.
Happy creating....................

Moxie Fabs Trendy Triangles Challenge Part 2

Another take on Moxie Fab's Trendy Triangle Challenge.
For this card the triangle is a fulcrum to the sentiment. Especially this one from Papertrey Ink, it is definitely weighted to the left. All a bit of fun......................

Until next time.

Moxie Fabs Trendy Triangles Challenge

I made these three cards for Moxie Fab's Trendy Triangle Challenge a couple of weeks ago.

I loved the idea of quilted half square triangles as a background for the tag and holder.
Pretty scraps.

For this card I liked the idea of triangles 'falling into line', from chaos to pattern.

This card is about disparate scraps joining for a harmonious background. To my quilty eyes anyway...:-)

Thanks for stopping by.......................................

Fusion Card Challenge's Hypothesis #14

I ran out of filling materials for the Snowmen I am making for my new pattern. I am a Quilt, bag, and fabric friends designer by day (my own business), and a card maker in my spare time. Running out of materials allowed me to make a card for Fusion's card challenge.
Lovely to be able to use gold goodies on a card. The card is based on the sketch and the photo.

The background paper is from a DCWV Serenity Matstack pad. Lots of yummy papers in this pad, some with a bit of metallic colour.

I used Hero Arts Gold embossing powder for the gold stamped items. I have to say, it gives a gorgeous even finish.

I have owned this stamp from Stampington and Company for about 7 years. I am pleased to say it is still available. I love that it has 4 Images on one stamp (one on each of the four faces of the stamp).
Shore Cliff Trim by Christine Adolph, each image approx. 1" x 4-1/2", wood-mounted. Part of the Shore Trim series of stamps, found under Art Stamps.

The Shabby Tearoom Week #177 - 'Oh Baby!'

As I said in my last post for The Ribbon Reel's Challenge, shabby style is my 'first love'.
It's the layers. My favourite layer, and/or shabby ladies are the DT girls for The Shabby Tearoom (find their links, and inspiration cards for this challenge, by clicking on the inspiration image below), Melissa Phillips, Stacey Schafer and many more. The Shabby Tearoom has a list of wonderful shabby girls under the heading 'Shabby Girlfriends', check them out.

I used a Wink of Stella GLITTER CLEAR Brush Tip Marker, a product I found through Jennifer McGuire's post. It is seriously the most beautiful, fine, mesmerising glitter....a must have!! AND, OMG, through researching this link now, I find they have other colours!! Some shopping to be done........:-).

Call again soon!

The Ribbon Reel's Challenge #58 'Rose Cottage'

Just look how pretty The Ribbon Reel's image is this week. I am thoroughly enjoying creating shabby cards. People like Melissa Phillips, whose blog I discovered in 2007, were the reason I got into card making in the first place. So I guess this style is my 'first love'. Have a look at the other cards from the design team, and the players, by clicking on the challenge image below.

Here is my card......................

The heart paper is from a Sommerset magazine purchased years ago. It's the tear-out, give away paper inside the magazine. Do they still do this??

Thanks for stopping by. Happy creating.
