Moxie Fab's Washi Tape Challenge Card Two

Back again...................
Here is the second card, which is along the same lines as the first one.

This card just seemed to need the yellow repeated elsewhere.
I think the stitched 'X's' do the trick, what do you think?

I have used the looped card stock again, I rather like this 3D effect.

There is a new use for Washi Tape on this card. The flower is edged with Washi tape.
I cut a strip of card stock and attached the Herringbone Washi Tape to the long edge.
I used aTim Holtz die to cut flower.

I used Spellbinders Nestabilities PETITE SCALLOPED LARGE CIRCLE for the black circle in the flower then added some paper flowers from my stash.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Many Birthday Messages set (CL611)

Thanks once again for dropping by.

Moxie Fab's Washi Tape Challenge Card One

Happy Easter every one!

I made two cards for the Moxie Fabs Washi Tape Challenge several days ago. They are in very different colors for me. The Black white and yellow is so crisp and clean.
Once again they are in separate posts to satisfy the Linky.

I chose three different Washi Tapes to use on the card. The loop behind the flower is a piece of card stock with two lengths of Washi tape run side by side to give the look of one wide Washi tape.

I inked part of a stamp from Papertrey inks Polka Dot Basics Stamp Set for the background dots. It is such a useful set.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts 'Say it All' set (CL574).

The card was finished with flowers from my stash, a punched black card stock circle, and some lovely black rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by.

28 March 2013

It's been a lovely week!

To be chosen at Paper Players was such a buzz for me this week. Then, yesterday morning I woke to comments, with congratulations, waiting to be published on my blog. I thought, NEVER!!
But yes, there it was, one of my cards had been chosen as one of Moxie Fab's Trigger Targets.
Double buzz! Card below:-

I am in esteemed company, the other TT's are absolutely gorgeous.
Check out their cards from Moxie Fab's Link below, about half way down the post.

Go to Bettys Crafts

I was just having a look at the other winners at The Paper Players and found Bettys Crafts.
Her Card is so clean and beautifully designed.
She has a video on her post showing how she made her card. WELL!! I learned about three new things. I especially love what she does with double sided tape and the folding it in half technique. Go and have a look.
http://bettys-crafts.blogspot.de/2013/03/hochzeitseinladung-gesucht-und-gefunden.html
I thought I was so clever stamping on a piece of acetate and using it to decide where to place an item, but it seems it's common practice. She takes it to a whole new level!

I have a lot to learn!!!!

Enjoying the journey. :)

Well that's really lovely isn't it!!!

I don't know if it's the 'done thing' to post about a wee success, but it's my first, and I am chuffed!!
Jaydee at The Paper Players picked my tag card as her choice for 'The Cut Above'.
Card below:-

I am one of nine choices. The Headliner is Deepti with her amazing and original card.

The Paper Players Challenge #137: Ann's Clean and Simple Sketch - Card Two

ONWARDS..................to the second card.

This card is very simple with a wee bit of bling.
I love these yummy mauvy colors.
The stamped image matts, and the card under the ribbon, are all white card stock painted with pearlescent acrylic paint. They have a little shimmer.

The stamped images are from Papertrey Inks Lovely Layers Stamp set.
They stamp so beautifully.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts Many Birthday Messages set (CL611)

The blingy centers are only plastic but they have a lovely reflective quality......

I hope you enjoyed your visit...call again soon. :-)

I need some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's
My wee 14 year old torty, Pinty, is already asleep....dear girl....my baby.
She adores her sheepskin lined basket which sits on a chest beside our bed.
My other two cats, Bonnie and Jasper, sleep in the conservatory. They will venture indoors as winter arrives. They are 14 and 15 years old and a wee bit creeky.....Nite

The Paper Players Challenge #137: Ann's Clean and Simple Sketch - Card One

Another day, another challenge! Actually it's 4.15am..............I am a night owl.
This time The Paper Players, and, for the first time for me, working with a sketch....hmmmmmmmm
It's actually very different, half the decisions are made for you.
Once again I made two cards, one has irregular shapes and the other is very CAS (for me anyway).
The cards are in separate posts to satisfy the linky.
Remember you can click on the card images for a larger view.

This is the first card:-

The tags are from Hero Arts Tag Stamps (AC020) with companion dies sold seperately.
The Sentiment is Hero Arts Many Birthday Messages (CL342).
I stamped and die-cut the tags then used Distress markers to color each one.
The heart is from a punch.
The daisies were shanked buttons, I removed the shank with nippy pliers.
A bit of black cardstock, some ribbon and some twined buttons finished it off.
I like the result, it's a cheery card.

On to the next post............................................

Moxie Fab - Tuesday Trigger- Elegant Emerald- Two

Here is the second card for Moxie Fab's challenge.

The card is actually embossed with three lines under the sentiment (two under and one over) but the photo doesn't show it.

The feather comes from my colored feather stash.....you just don't know when you'll need a colored feather!

The flourish stamp is from Inkadinkadoo I think??
I now keep the Makers cards with the stamps.

The sentiment is from a Hero Arts stamp set Everyday Sayings (CL342)

A few sequins a bit of gold ribbon and voila!!

Thanks for stopping by.....................

Moxie Fab - Tuesday Trigger- Elegant Emerald- One

I love this beautiful image, I am such a green girl.

I made two cards (in separate posts).
This is the first card.

The fabric of the dress inspired me to make several pieces of inked watercolor paper to use on the card.
I used a Distress stain, a Distress reinker and white acrylic paint.
I 'dobbed' the colors liberally on a clear plastic sheet then pressed the watercolor paper into it.
The different mediums reacted in a slightly different way on the paper.
The distress inks are translucent and the acrylic paint is Opaque.
When they were dry I stamped a foliage stamp over the top in pigment ink.
The final layer was a fine mist of sealant...this intensified the colors.
Anyway here is the result. Four pieces of patterned paper.
On this card I gold embossed a wee leafy image.

The butterfly comes from a stamp set I have had for a few years. It doesn't have a makers name. It is red rubber that is mounted on a gray, self adhesive foam.

The sentiment is from a Hero Arts Stamp set 'Many Birthday Messages' (CL611)

I added a few sequins and gems.

TIP :- The butterfly antennae are made from the green paper-covered wire that is used for stems on paper flowers. I keep the off cuts.
Cut a length of this wire, color it if necessary, then fold it loosely in half.
Push the folded end into a piece of Blu-tac.
Squeeze a wee drop of Liquid Pearls on each end. Leave to dry.
Glue the folded end to the underside of the butterfly's head with a good glue.

The second card uses the same stamps..................................

The sentiment and arrow come from Hero Arts Darling Sentiments (331371). .

*Hero Arts Clear Stamps DARLING SENTIMENTS 2013 Studio Calico 331371

The scallop circles are stamped with Hero Arts Envelope Pattern (S5507).
The Question mark is from an old Making Memories Foam alphabet set - Philadelphia
The bird stamp does not have a brand on it.

The red hearts are from punches.

That's it for this challenge, on to the next!

Thank you for stopping by.

Runway Inspired Cards 32 - Moschino Cheap and Chic One

Here we go with another challenge....................I took a bit of a quirky approach to this one, making two cards (in separate posts) with the same theme.

The 'Hey You' and the 'Long time no see' sentiments come from Hero Arts Darling Sentiments (331371). It is a very versatile stamp set.

TIP :- I couldn't decide which question mark to place the bird on so this is the method I use to help me decide on placement of objects or sentiments.
I have a small piece of clear packaging that I stamp the image on.
I hold the clear sheet with the image over the card and move around until it seems OK to me. :-)
I use dye ink so I can just wipe the image off when I have finished.
The sheet sits on a shelf in front of me ready for the next time.

On to the next card.............................

Runway Inspired Challenge - ric#31 - Kate Spade NY No 2

This is the second card for the Runway Inspired Challenge:-

For the this card I used Hero Arts Many Dots CL519, and the sentiment is Hero Arts Say It All CL574. I masked the circles to give a layered effect. The cardstock is a fine linen texture which gives a not so perfect stamp....I rather like this 'hit and miss' look.
The Daisy is Stamped with Black Versafine, then clear embossed with clear powder.
This gives a lovely crisp image.

Thanks for dropping by.

Runway Inspired Challenge - ric#31 - Kate Spade NY

This is my first time entering the Runway Inspired Challenge. It's an interesting approach to inspiration for cards. I have made two cards but will need to do two posts to satisfy the 'Linky'.

Here is the card:-

The woman image is New Zealands very own Montarga Stamps (Lady with beads 1592)

The preserving memories stamp is from a Maya Road set. 'Spool Sentiments'

The digital Black and White Striped Paper is free from

Thank you to Free Vintage Digistamps.

Thanks for looking.

The Paper Players - Nance's Color Challenge #136 Part two

The second card for this challenge

For this card I stamped with Versamark, two pieces of white cardstock, one in dots and the other in a random woven pattern. I white embossed both.
I then colored the dots in Pool Party (the nearest ink I had) by swirling the stamp pad across the embossed cardstock. I then cleaned the ink off the white embossing using a very light touch with a Wet Wipe, then polished with a dry tissue. I then chomped the corners to round them.
I repeated this process (minus the chomped corners) with the second embossed piece using the closest ink I had to Lucky Limeade.
The flower was made by rubbing a band of ink across a piece of white cardstock, then with the second color another band was placed directly alongside the first band of color.
I then stamped a small daisy border stamp over the intersection of the two colors.
Finally I punched out the two sizes of flower. To finish the flower I punched out a small brown circle to go under the cabochon.
I cut a white circle using a Spellbinders scallop die, added some brown and white bakers twine, and finished with the 'Thanks' sentiment (Hero Arts Say It All CL574) and some pearls.

The Paper Players - Nance's Color Challenge #136

It's 3.45am and I have just finished my cards for The Paper Players Challenge......now, how do I photograph them???? I think I will have to set the alarm clock and get up at sunrise, just a couple of hours away....YIKES!!

This is the first card.

For the this card I used Hero Arts Many Dots CL519, Thanks G2679, and the sentiment is Say It All CL574. I masked some of the circles to give a slightly layered effect.

Thanks for dropping by.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: By the numbers...

I just love the challenges on the SSS Blog because I can play with Vintage Style.....Hmmmmm!

The numbers I have chosen for my card are birth dates, house numbers, birthdays, and anniversary dates.
I have had the Bingo Stamp for years. It's from the Oxford Impressions 'Playful' sheet.

http://www.etsy.com/listing/90711032/playful-rubber-stamp-collection?
I white embossed the Bingo stamp on tan cardstock.
I then used several Distress inks over the card.
I 'knocked back' the white embossing with a little Stazon mixture.
The doily is part of a very old, very tattered, crocheted tablecloth.
It consists of about 40 of these medallions which can be separated from the cloth.
The image was purchased from Etsy but the shop no longer exists.
I added a few embellishments:- ribbon, flower cabachon, some rustic string, a couple of wee die cuts, an old postage stamp, and a heart paperclip (These seem to have gone out of vogue. I have had this one for eight years.)

This is the card..........................

Thanks for stopping by!

Moxie Fab - Tuesday Trigger- Pattern Play

I can't believe it's March already! Not a lot of time spent in the craft room. :-(

I loved  Moxie Fabs Tuesday Trigger- Pattern Play image so thought I would have a go at interpreting it. I think rather than interpret, I was a bit literal with my design, but it was fun to make.
I used MS Publisher (the program I use write my quilt patterns) to make the spot and cross background for the card. I printed this off on my Inkjet, then applied the die-cut flowers, ribbon, and stamped sentiment.

This Week's Tuesday Trigger

http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2013/02/tuesday-trigger-pattern-play.html

Here is the card...................

I thought I would own up to how many flowers and circles I die cut, and now have left over from the project..................

For the flowers I used Cuttlebug, Spellbinders and Papertrey dies, and a circle punch.
The Sentiment is from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings
